Fabrication for the Mining Sector

Mining operations demand components that are built to handle extreme conditions — high loads, abrasive materials, corrosive environments, and continuous operation. EDS fabricates custom components for mining and mineral processing applications, including structural supports, conveyor parts, screening equipment components, chute liners, access platforms, and bespoke replacement parts for equipment across surface and underground operations.

We understand the cost of downtime in mining. When a critical component fails, the cost per hour of lost production far exceeds the cost of the replacement part. That’s why we offer fast-turnaround fabrication for breakdown situations, working from dimensions taken off the failed component or from maintenance drawings. For planned shutdowns, we manufacture replacement parts in advance and deliver them to site on schedule.

Material selection for mining components requires specific consideration. We work with wear-resistant steels (Bisalloy and equivalent grades) for high-abrasion applications, stainless steels for corrosive processing environments, and high-strength structural grades for load-bearing components. Our welding team is experienced with the pre-heat and post-heat requirements of these specialty materials.

For ongoing maintenance contracts and mine site support, we maintain records of all components previously manufactured so that reorders can be produced consistently. We work with maintenance planners to forecast component replacement schedules and produce critical spares in advance, reducing the risk of unplanned downtime and the cost of emergency procurement.
