Our fibre laser cutter delivers precision cutting across steel, stainless steel, and aluminium sheet and plate. Laser cutting produces clean, accurate profiles with minimal heat-affected zone, tight tolerances, and finished edges that often require no secondary processing. For complex profiles, small holes, internal cutouts, and intricate shapes, it’s the most efficient and precise cutting method available in our workshop.
The practical advantages of laser cutting show up in several ways. Profiles are cut directly from CAD files, so the transition from drawing to finished part is fast and accurate — there’s no manual marking out or template-making. Nesting software optimises part placement on the sheet to minimise material waste, which matters for both cost and environmental reasons. And because the cutting is non-contact, there’s no tool wear affecting cut quality across a production run.
We laser cut mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium across a range of thicknesses suitable for the components we fabricate. Cut quality is consistent regardless of profile complexity — a 200mm circle with six internal mounting holes is cut in the same pass as a simple rectangular blank. For jobs requiring tight tolerance hole patterns (such as mounting plates for electrical or mechanical equipment), laser cutting delivers the positional accuracy needed without secondary drilling.
Laser cutting is available as a standalone service (we cut your parts from your drawing and return them flat) or as the first operation in a complete fabrication job. Most of the products we manufacture — from electrical cable covers to lift shaft brackets to mining components — begin life on the laser cutter before moving through forming, machining, welding, and finishing.
