General Fabrication — Technical Support

Technical support resources for clients using EDS general fabrication services. Whether you’re working with custom-manufactured components, repeat production items, or one-off fabrication, this section provides guidance on working with our team to get the best results from the manufacturing process.

The most effective way to communicate a fabrication requirement is with a dimensioned drawing — even a hand sketch with key dimensions is more useful than a verbal description. For more complex components, we work from CAD files (DXF, DWG, STEP, or PDF formats). If you have a concept but no drawing, our engineering team can develop the design with you and produce manufacturing drawings as part of the project.

For repeat orders of previously manufactured components, reference your original order number or part description and we’ll pull up the existing job records. This ensures consistency between batches and avoids re-engineering costs. If you need a modification to an existing design, let us know what’s changed and we’ll update the production documentation.

Material certifications, dimensional inspection reports, and compliance documentation are available on request for any component we manufacture. For projects with specific quality requirements — such as structural steel fabrication to AS/NZS standards, or components for certified equipment — let us know the compliance requirements at the quoting stage so we can factor documentation and inspection into the production plan.
