Versatile Sheet Metal Fabrication

Sheet Metal Work

Sheet metal work is the core of what we do at EDS. The majority of our products — from electrical cable covers to lift entrance panels to custom enclosures — are fabricated from flat sheet stock that is cut, formed, and joined into finished components. Our workshop is set up specifically for efficient sheet metal processing, with laser cutting, guillotining, press brake forming, punching, and welding all under one roof.

The materials we work with most frequently are mild steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel (grades 304 and 316), and aluminium in thicknesses ranging from light gauge through to medium plate. Material selection depends on the application — galvanised steel for outdoor electrical infrastructure, stainless steel for food-grade or corrosive environments, aluminium where weight reduction matters, and mild steel for general industrial applications where cost-effectiveness is the primary consideration.

For production work, our programmable press brakes and laser cutters ensure that the first part and the thousandth part are dimensionally identical. This matters for products like our electrical range, where wholesalers need confidence that every unit they receive is interchangeable. For one-off and prototype work, the same equipment delivers precision without excessive setup costs, because programming is done directly from CAD files.

Our sheet metal capability extends to full assembly — welding, hardware insertion (studs, nuts, standoffs), surface finishing, and packaging. Components can be delivered as individual parts, sub-assemblies, or complete finished units depending on your requirements. We’re happy to discuss the most practical approach for your particular project.
