Precision Folding for Accurate Profiles
Folding
EDS provides press brake folding services from our Brendale workshop, producing accurate bends in sheet metal and plate for a wide range of industrial, commercial, and construction applications. Folding is how flat sheet is formed into brackets, channels, enclosures, trays, panels, guards, and other shaped components — and it’s one of the most frequently used processes in our workshop.
Our press brakes are equipped with programmable back gauges, which means bend positions and angles are set digitally and repeated consistently across every part in a run. Whether the job calls for a single bend on a simple bracket or a complex sequence of folds to form a multi-sided enclosure, the setup ensures each piece comes out identical to the last. This is particularly important for our electrical and lift sector clients, where components need to fit together precisely on site.
We fold mild steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel (304 and 316 grades), and aluminium across a range of thicknesses. For projects requiring specific bend radii, tight tolerances, or unusual forming sequences, our mechanical engineers can review the design and advise on the most effective approach before production begins.
Folding at EDS is typically part of a larger fabrication workflow — a component might be laser cut, folded, welded, and finished all as part of a single job managed through our workshop. But we also handle standalone folding work for clients who have their own cut parts and just need accurate forming. Either way, we maintain job records for repeat orders so future runs are produced consistently without re-setup.
