Galvanised Durability & Weatherproofing

Australia’s climate is hard on outdoor electrical infrastructure — UV exposure, coastal salt air, tropical humidity, and temperature extremes. Every product in our electrical range is galvanised for comprehensive weather protection, providing a durable zinc coating that resists corrosion across all Australian climate zones, from coastal Queensland to inland Western Australia.

We use hot-dip galvanising as our primary finishing process for electrical products. This gives a thicker, more durable zinc coating compared to electro-galvanising, which is important for components that will be exposed to weather for decades. The galvanising process bonds the zinc metallurgically to the steel substrate, meaning it won’t peel, flake, or delaminate under thermal cycling or physical impact during installation.

For projects in particularly aggressive environments — coastal installations within salt spray zones, industrial areas with chemical exposure, or tropical regions with sustained high humidity — we can advise on additional protective measures. These may include heavier galvanising specifications, supplementary powder coating over galvanised finishes, or the use of stainless steel for critical components.

Our mechanical engineers understand the real-world conditions these products face. Brackets that flex under wind loading, cable covers exposed to direct sun, eye bolts subjected to conductor tension — the finish has to withstand not just corrosion but mechanical stress over a long service life. That understanding informs our material selection, forming processes, and finishing specifications for every product in the range.
